Payment for Services

If you or your child needs orthodontic treatment, we have flexible finance options that will enable you to obtain affordable, high-quality treatment that fits your budget. Several financing options are available and described below.  Forms of payment accepted: MasterCard, Visa, Check and Cash.

Option A: Office Payment Plan

As a courtesy to our patients, we offer a financing plan with no interest. An initial down payment is required, with the balance of the patient’s responsibility to be paid over the estimated number of months of treatment.

Option B: Payment in Full

A bookkeeping courtesy of 5% discount is given for direct payment in full by cash or check at the start of treatment.

Option C: Care Credit

A convenient monthly payment program for yourself and your family specifically designed to pay for healthcare expenses.  No interest and low interest payment plans available. Subject to credit approval. To find out more about Care Credit click on the link below.

Insurance Policies & Guidelines

If your insurance covers orthodontic treatment, we will assist you in determining your insurance coverage. However, as with all insurance, there is no guarantee of payment until a claim is actually filed.

How does orthodontic insurance work?

There are many different agreements between insurance carriers and their subscribers, and each contract provides a different benefit. Orthodontic insurance rarely covers the entire cost of orthodontic treatment. Each insured individual usually has a lifetime maximum dollar benefit for orthodontic services. This benefit is normally paid over a period of treatment time rather than at the beginning of treatment.

In North Carolina, the orthodontic benefit for which you have paid cannot be denied if orthodontic treatment is indicated.

How does our office assist you with insurance?

For your convenience, we will gladly assist you by preparing initial insurance claims pertaining to charges for orthodontic treatment rendered in our office. This form (and possibly payment receipts) is all the information needed for an orthodontic claim. Insurance benefits are typically paid directly to the insured on a regular basis. We are glad to furnish receipts, if needed, to validate insured benefits.

Our primary financial relationship is with our patients or their families and not with the insurance companies; this minimizes the potential for misunderstandings between patients, insurance carriers and doctors.

Helpful Hints

  • Know who your dental insurance carrier is and what your benefits are before treatment starts. (Medical and Dental insurance are commonly from different companies)
  • Questions to ask your Human Resource Department or your insurance company representative:
    1. Do I have orthodontic coverage?
    2. If so, what are the maximums and limitations?
    3. Does the insurance company pay automatically?
  • Bring your insurance card or insurance information including name, address and telephone number of your dental insurance carrier to help in preparing the standard insurance claim form.
  • If your employer offers a medical reimbursement plan, we will be happy to help provide you with the information you may need to submit for reimbursement.
